Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former mentor Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his first trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.
He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
The opponent saved four early-game break points in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
